The simplest way of understanding the nature and purpose of a Spiritual Assessment is first to realise that we all need guidance on our journey of unfoldment and that purely self-assessment is difficult and sometimes misguiding. A Spiritual assessment is an opportunity to examine and gain insight concerning one’s unfoldment via an external and impartial source. A Spiritual Assessment not only offers an assessment of the current ‘state’ of your unfoldment, but also, can help with direction. As an individual’s unfoldment progresses, opportunities present themselves and alternative paths open and it is difficult to know what opportunity to take and what path to walk. Often, it is the unexpected path or opportunity that will best suite and serve an individual and their unfoldment, rather than the path or opportunity that resonates as most comfortable or most familiar. A Spiritual Assessment can not only offer understanding and direction, but also the courage to walk unfamiliar ground. As one’s journey unfolds, occasional Spiritual Assessments can be utilised as a good source of current position and future progression to assist in the choice of courses, mentors, reading and practice.

Not withstanding what a Spiritual Assessment is, there a number of things it is not. It is not a reading in which the focus is on providing proof of life after death or loving messages from loved ones. However, if during a Spiritual Assessment, a loved-one makes an appearance, the sitter will be made aware and offered any encouragement, feedback, insights, or ideas they have to offer in the context of the assessment.
It is also not an opportunity to examine material or worldly issues including living conditions, relationships, financial decisions, loss and grief. (Perhaps in these cases a reading would be more appropriate and of better benefit).
